Cardiac Manifestations of Sjogren's Syndrome: A Review of Literature

Sjogren's syndrome (SS) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the exocrine glands. It characterized by lymphocytic infiltrate in lacrimal and salivary glands causing keratoconjunctivitis sicca xerostomia. Extra-glandular involvement may be present about one-third patients with primary Sjogren’s (pSS). The most commonly affected organs are thyroid, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, skin, nervous system. Cardiac manifestations rare not well-described current literature. Most evidence form case reports small series. However, recent studies have shown that seem to greater overall risk cardiovascular (CV) events. Although conventionally considered feature disease, cardiac can lead increased morbidity mortality this patient population. In review article, we study association between diseases syndrome.
